About Us

Herne Bay Tennis Club is a small, friendly but competitive club housed close to the sea. The club was originally based in the Memorial Park in the town, but moved to its new home at Kent Close in the 1970’s with a purpose built clubhouse and 3 shale courts. Over the years the club changed to astroturf courts shared with the hockey club and most recently to new cushioned acrylic, floodlit courts completed in 2003.

Our facilities include:

  • 4 Cushioned Acrylic Courts (2 floodlit)
  • Purpose built clubhouse (incl. bar, changing rooms, kitchen etc.)

Our new courts were completed in 2003 and were the result of a jointly funded project by Herne Bay Tennis Club and the LTA. They were built on the site of the club’s old shale courts. The club was awarded its Tennismark accreditation in July 2016.

Herne Bay Tennis Club is keen to show its commitment to the British Tennis Diversity Policy of tolerance and inclusion, so please read this document carefully and ensure that you adhere to all its tenets and advice.
