The Winter 2011/12 team selection list has been chosen by the club committee using a combination of individual preferences from the returned selection forms, previous performance in the last year and the need to give as many members as possible the opportunity to play matches if they wish to be considered. We have also included a list of reserves for use by the team Captains showing the names of those members who have expressed a wish to play in a team or be a reserve. The captains will use this list in the event a replacement is needed. We would anticipate that most players will have an opportunity to play at some point given the number of teams that we are fielding and the current growing injury list.
We request that you support your captains by advising them of your availability in good time and helping them as much as possible on match days regarding entertaining the opposition, setting up for the match and clearing up afterwards at home matches and assisting with travel arrangements for away matches where possible. Without the captains giving up some of their time we could not run this large amount of teams with such a small membership.
Would nominated captains please look at the fixture list urgently as there are a number of matches in October, starting on the 1st, which we hope will be able to take advantage of the better weather. Handbooks and match cards will be distributed once I have received them all from the Kent LTA. Those captains with early matches will receive one of the limited numbers of handbooks I currently have in my possession.
